WHEREAS, The Dining Car was first opened in 1961 by Joseph Morozin Sr., who opened his very first eatery at the age of sixteen; and

WHEREAS, The Dining Car was established by Joseph Morozin, Sr., to provide affordable, healthy and quality cuisine to the residents of Northeast Philadelphia, while never losing a commitment to making customers feel like they are "family"; and

WHEREAS The Dining Car's road to success was paved by the hard work, dedication and perseverance of the Morozin family. Joseph Morozin's children oversee all daily operations and business. Judy Morozin graduated from Penn State University with a degree in restaurant management and is responsible for the training of all front of the house personnel. Joseph Morozin, Jr., also, a graduate of Penn State University, oversees back of the house and kitchen functions. Nancy Morozin, a Moore College of Art & Design graduate and a great friend to the community, serves as the general manager; and

WHEREAS The Dining Car stresses a concept of "family", which has trickled down to the staff, with many key employees working 25 years or longer; and

WHEREAS The Dining Car's policy is be part of the wonderfully diverse community of Northeast Philadelphia by building strong bonds with local schools, churches, neighborhood and civic organizations, hospitals and police districts; and

WHEREAS The Dining Car has become an award-winning, full service restaurant that serves the neighborhoods of Northeast Philadelphia, and so improves the quality of life in the City of Philadelphia as well; and

WHEREAS, The City of Philadelphia hopes for-nay, demands-another 50 years of dining and community excellence from The Dining Car; now, therefore,
