WHEREAS, The Philadelphia technology, innovation and creative communities are again coming together to celebrate their importance to region's economy, culture, and future; and

WHEREAS, The Philadelphia technology community - with leadership from local technology news organization Technically Philly - has again organized a series of more than 70 scheduled events around technology and innovation in Philadelphia called "Philly Tech Week" and scheduled for April 20, 2012 to April 28, 2012; and

WHEREAS, This week includes events such as Startup Weekend, Switch Philly, What it Takes to be a Black Entrepreneur, Computer Literacy for Senior Citizens, Social Media for Nonprofits, the Philly Robotics Expo, the Digital Bridge, Entrepreneur Expo, the Hack Gallery Show, the Future of iOS Games; and

WHEREAS, The organizing groups include Independents Hall, Philly Startup Leaders, NextFab Studio, Hive 76, the Hacktory, Nonprofit Technology Resources, the Little Berlin exhibition space, and the Philadelphia Game Lab; and

WHEREAS, The participating institutions include the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, the City of Philadelphia, the Wharton School of Business, Temple and Drexel universities, the University of the Arts, the University City Science Center, the Knight Foundation, the Franklin Institute and WHYY; and

WHEREAS, The sponsoring businesses include Comcast, Ticketleap, Aweber, First Round Capital, Dell Boomi, SEER Interactive, DreamIt Ventures, Morgan Lewis, Tropo, T-Mobile, Azavea, RJ Metrics, Chariot Solutions, Duck Duck Go, and Little Giant Media; now, therefore, be it
