Title
Authorizing the Director of Commerce to file a proposal for funds with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
 
Body
      WHEREAS, The City of Philadelphia, through its Department of Commerce, is desirous of obtaining Keystone Communities Program funds from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (“DCED”) in the amount of $298,000; and
 
      WHEREAS, Such funds from the DCED are to be used for an extension of the Commerce Department's current Targeted Storefront Improvement Program (“TSIP”) and for planning purposes; now, therefore, be it
 
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, THAT:
 
      1.      The Director of Commerce, on behalf of the City of Philadelphia, is hereby authorized and directed to execute a Keystone Communities Program application in the amount of $298,000 to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (“DCED”).  Such funds are to be used for an extension of the Commerce Department's current Targeted Storefront Improvement Program (“TSIP”) and for planning purposes.
 
      2.      The City of Philadelphia will assume the provision of the full local share of project costs.
 
      3.      The City of Philadelphia will reimburse the Commonwealth for the State's share of any expenditure, found by DCED to be ineligible.
  1. The Clerk of Council is hereby directed to execute a certificate attesting to the adoption of this resolution and to furnish a copy of the Resolution to DCED.
