Title
Honoring and celebrating Malik Bishop, Faith Fenton, Aderinsola Solebo, Maisie Brolly, Jenna Cox, and Stephanie Pleasant of Greenwoods Charter School for winning Honorable Mention in the Toshiba/NSTA ExploraVision Contest for their entries entitled "Injection of Carbon Nanotubes to Heal Bone Fractures" and "The Peechy Toothbrush".
Body
WHEREAS, The competition is a partnership between Toshiba and the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) that challenges students to infuse innovativeness and critical thinking into a futuristic invention, while utilizing skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). Greenwoods Charter entries were in the top ten percent of all ExploraVision project submissions to the National Competition; and

WHEREAS, The students studied a technology of interest and predicted what that technology might be like twenty years from now. Each team had to imagine a technology of the future, create a written description that included the brainstorming process, the state of present related technology, history of its development, breakthroughs that are necessary for their invention submission to become a reality, the pros and cons if it is constructed and implemented, and create five sample web pages promoting their product; and

WHEREAS, Malik Bishop, Faith Fenton, and Aderinsola Solebo won for their project "Injection of Carbon Nanotubes to Heal Bone Fractures." The injection would contain a foam made from polylactic acid, hydroxyapatite, and chemically treated carbon nanotubes. The foam will support the bone fracture similar to a polymer pin or rod. Chemically treated carbon nanotubes would attract calcium ions to help strengthen the bone while polylactic acid and hydoxyapatite acts as insulating materials. The nanotubes would speed healing and prevent weeks of physical therapy after implant surgery; and

WHEREAS, Maisie Brolly, Jenna Cox, and Stephanie Pleasant won for their project entitled, "The Peechy Toothbrus...
