WHEREAS, The Philadelphia technology, innovation and creative communities are again coming together to celebrate their importance to the region's economy, culture, and future; and

WHEREAS, The Philadelphia technology community - with leadership from local technology news organization Technically Philly - has again organized a series of more than 80 scheduled events around technology and innovation in Philadelphia called "Philly Tech Week", scheduled for April 19, 2013 to April 28, 2013; and

WHEREAS, This week includes events such as Women in Tech Summit, Innovations in Green Technology, Bootstrappers Breakfast, Switch Philly, All Hands on Technology: A Senior Learning Event, Reinventing Black Media in the Digital Age, Startup 101, Philly Startup Leaders and Philly Founded Entrepreneurial Expo, Ignite Philly Youth Media, and Hack Philly 2.0; and

WHEREAS, The organizing groups include Benjamin's Desk, Philly TechGirlz, the Urban Youth Racing School, the Energy Efficient Buildings Hub, 900AM-WURD, Wilco Electronic Systems, PACT, KEYSPOT, the Hacktory, First Person Arts, NextFab Studio, Quorum, and Ventureforth; and

WHEREAS, The participating institutions include the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, Economy League of Philadelphia, Mayor's Office of New Urban Mechanics and Office of the Creative Economy, the Knight Foundation, the Wharton School of Business, Drexel and Temple Universities, the University of the Arts, the Free Library of Philadelphia, and WXPN; and
