Recognizing Sunday, May 5, 2013 as Ilona Grover Day in appreciation of her twenty-four years of service to the City of Philadelphia.
 
Body
WHEREAS, Ilona Grover was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Ms. Grover is a longtime resident of West Philadelphia and graduated from West Philadelphia High in 1967.  She is a dedicated member of Vine Memorial Baptist Church; and
 
WHEREAS, Ilona Grover began her career in the Office of Congressman Chaka Fattah on January 3, 1989 as a Constituent Services Director; and
 
WHEREAS, Ilona Grover retired from the Office of Congressman Chaka Fattah on February 28, 2013, where she dedicated 24 years; and
 
WHEREAS, Ilona is well respected by her superiors and colleagues, and her presence will be sorely missed.  Her spirit and enthusiasm have been a permanent and positive influence, and she is held in high esteem by all.  Ms. Grover has had a permanent and positive impact on thousands of people who have been enriched by her knowledge and enhanced by her wisdom; now therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby honor Ilona Grover for her twenty-four years of outstanding service and commitment to the City of Philadelphia by designating Sunday, May 5, 2013 as Ilona Grover Day in appreciation of this extraordinary work.
