WHEREAS, The Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority (hereinafter the "Redevelopment Authority") has prepared and submitted an urban renewal plan and a redevelopment proposal for the redevelopment of the West Parkside Urban Renewal Area (hereinafter "West Parkside"), which said plan and proposal were approved by Ordinance of the Council on June 13, 2002, as amended; and

WHEREAS, The Redevelopment Authority has prepared a redevelopment contract for a portion of West Parkside, identified by house number and street address as 5100-5122 Merion avenue (hereinafter the "Property"). The area of the Property is bounded as follows:

5100-5122 Merion avenue.

ALL THAT CERTAIN lot or piece of ground situated in the Fifty-second Ward of the City of Philadelphia situate on the southwest corner of Merion avenue (fifty feet wide) and Fifty-first street (forty feet wide); Containing in front or breadth on said Merion avenue one hundred eighty feet four inches and extending of that width in length or depth between parallel lines at right angles to said Merion avenue eighty-two feet six inches to a certain four feet wide alley extending southeastward into said Fifty-first street.

The said redevelopment contract is in substantial conformity with the amended urban renewal plan and the amended redevelopment proposal approved by Council; and

WHEREAS, WesGold, LLC desires to enter into the said redevelopment contract for the Property.
