WHEREAS, Donn Scott graduated with a B.A. degree from Lincoln University in 1970 and subsequently earned a M.B.A. in Finance from Temple University in 1975 and graduated from the School of Credit and Finance from Dartmouth University; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Scott joined Philadelphia National Bank in 1970 as a management trainee and, over his 40 plus years in banking, he has held numerous management positions within the financial services industry including Regional Vice President for the middle market and retail and business banking for Philadelphia, Delaware County, and the State of Delaware, Sales Director for Government Banking in the Pennsylvania/Delaware region, and Chairman of the CoreStates Diversity Committee; and

WHEREAS, currently, Donn Scott is a Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for the Wells Fargo Regional Government Banking Office in Philadelphia and, in this position, he is responsible for servicing and developing new relationships in the public sector with a focus on school districts, municipalities, authorities, and state governments; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Scott has not only been successful in banking, he is also a community leader and has served as Chairman of the Urban Affairs Coalition, African American Museum in Philadelphia, Delaware River Waterfront Corporation, Vice Chair of the Children First Foundation, Finance Chair of the Board of Trustees of Lincoln University, Board Member of the Barnes Foundation, and co-Founder of the Forum; and

WHEREAS, Donn Scott is married to Romesa Scott and they have three children and two grandchildren; now, therefore, be it,

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby honor Donn Scott on his retirement from the financial services industry.
