WHEREAS, Matthew Schure, Ph.D. has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) since 2000, where he has been a visionary with a focus on mission-centered instructional, research and service outcomes; and

WHEREAS, Prior to being named President of PCOM, Dr. Schure served as President and Chief Executive Officer of New York Institute of Technology from 1991 through 2000; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Schure graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magnum Cum Laude from Queens College (CUNY) in New York with a Degree in Psychology. Dr. Schure went on to acquire his Master's Degree in 1970, his M.Ph. in 1976 and his Ph.D. in 1976, all from Columbia University in New York; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Schure has served as an avid leader, teacher, and counselor, instilling enormous pride in PCOM's osteopathic heritage and its unrivaled commitment to recruit and train Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) and graduate students who will employ holistic approaches to clinical, didactic and other professional responsibilities-helping to meet the needs of medically-underserved areas; and

WHEREAS, During his illustrious career Dr. Schure has been able to share his knowledge and enthusiasm for education through presentations such as a Presentation of Measurement of Institutional Effectiveness to the Committee on College Accreditation Training; he presented as a keynote speaker at the POMA 98th Annual Clinical Assembly and Scientific Seminar on "Challenges of Osteopathic Medical College Presidency"; he presented as the keynote speaker at Middle States Commission on Higher Education Virtual Library Services, the Curriculum and Accreditation Conference on "The Impact o...
