WHEREAS, Mo'ne Davis is a female Little League Baseball pitcher for the Taney Dragons from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, Mo'ne Davis is one of two girls to play in the 2014 Little League World Series; and

WHEREAS, Mo'ne Davis is the 18th girl to play in the Little League World Series overall, the sixth to get a hit and the fourth American girl to play in the Little League World Series; and

WHEREAS, Mo'ne Davis is the first Little League Baseball player to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated as a Little League player; and

WHEREAS, Mo'ne Davis throws a 70 mph fastball while the average in her weight class is 50 mph and also excels in basketball and soccer and considers basketball her primary sport; and

WHEREAS, Mo'ne Davis was called the heart and soul of the Taney Dragons by Philadelphia Magazine; and

WHEREAS, Mo'ne Davis received praise from Ellen DeGeneres, Billie Jean King and First Lady Michelle Obama and appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon; and

WHEREAS, Mo'ne Davis filmed a 16-minute documentary with Spike Lee to debunk the stereotype that girls are not able to play sports as well as boys; and

WHEREAS, Mo'ne Davis donated her jersey to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and was accompanied by Mamie "Peanut" Johnson, the first female pitcher to play in the Negro Leagues; and

WHEREAS, Mo'ne Davis was named one of "The 25 Most Influential Teens of 2014" by Time Magazine; and

WHEREAS, On October 25th 2014, Mo'ne Davis threw out a perfect strike for the ceremonial first pitch of game 4 of the MLB World Series at AT&T Park in San Francisco; and
