WHEREAS, Mount Carmel Baptist Church boasts 132 years of Christian ministry that began in 1882 with mission to "teach, preach, and interpret the Gospel of Jesus Christ," starting with a small group of 13 members who sought to worship God in the Baptist tradition; and

WHEREAS, Reverend Donald Moore, a native of Wilmington, North Carolina, has preached to God-seeking members in Camden, New Jersey and Philadelphia while he was completing his seminary studies; and

WHEREAS, Reverend Moore acquired a Bachelor's Degree in Speech Communication from Fayetteville State University and a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from North Carolina Central University and he is currently pursuing a doctorate in Organizational Leadership at Wilmington University; and

WHEREAS, Reverend Moore also holds a Master's of Divinity from Palmer Theological Seminary and he was ordained by American Baptist Churches, USA of New Jersey in 2011; and

WHEREAS, Reverend Moore is married to Dr. Pamela Moore with two sons, Aubrey, a recent graduate of Temple University and Daundre, a junior at North Carolina A&T State University; and

WHEREAS, The West Philadelphia community and members of Mount Carmel Baptist Church excitedly welcome Reverend Moore as man of God who has a strong and achievable vision for a "Great Commission" to strengthen the relationship between the church and the community; now, therefore, be it
