Congratulating and recognizing Jeff Kilpatrick and the students from the Memphis Street Academy's Artrepreneurs Program on winning a SEED (Supporting Entrepreneurship in Education) 4.0 grant which is presented by PhillyCORE Leaders, a group of education leaders that collaborates to come up with better education ideas in the City.

Body
WHEREAS, The Artrepreneurs Program teaches young artists that art is not only a fun and creative hobby but that it is also a valuable tool with real life lessons such as critical thinking, math, finance, cooperation and business ethics and can even be used as a fundraiser for charitable causes; and

WHEREAS, Jeff Kilpatrick is not only the developer of the Artrepreneurs Program at Memphis Street Academy, he is also a co-founder of the Philadelphia Cartoonist Society, a proud member of the Meathaus Comics Collective and also teaches weekends and summers at the University of the Arts, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and is very giving of his time and talents as a volunteer teacher all around the City, including the Prince Music Center, free libraries, recreation centers, and the Children's Crisis Treatment Center (CcTC); and

WHEREAS, The Artrepreneurs Program will help take a budding student artist from an idea through the design and production phase and ultimately lead to a finished product which can then be marketed and sold. The proceeds from these sales are then divided up equally to help fund the program, a scholarship for the student artist and also a charity of the student's choice; and

WHEREAS, This program teaches the student artist about collaboration with their peers and fosters not only a sense of pride and accomplishment but the value of giving back of your talents to those less fortunate; now, therefore, be it
