Honoring and congratulating native Roxborough resident and graduate of Roxborough High School, superstar wide receiver Rasheed Bailey on launching his professional football career with our Philadelphia Eagles.

WHEREAS, Rasheed Bailey, nicknamed "Showtime," is a native Philadelphian, residing in the Roxborough neighborhood and he is a graduate of Roxborough High School; and

WHEREAS, Bailey then went on to Delaware Valley University (DVU) a Division III school located north of Philadelphia in Doylestown, Pennsylvania where he broke numerous records at DVU while honing his Showtime skills and athletic performance on the football field; and

WHEREAS, During the 2014 football season, Bailey scored the most touchdowns and receiving yards and yards per game in all of Division III football nationwide, and he set single season records at DVU in all major receiving categories with 80 catches for 1,707 yards and 19 touchdowns; and

WHEREAS, In addition, Bailey set a new DVU single-game record tallying up 252 yards against Albright College last year; contributing to Bailey's collegiate career stats of 165 receptions for 3,138 years and 29 touchdowns which topped the DVU's former record; and

WHEREAS, Bailey has earned numerous accolades for his athleticism and highly entertaining showtime abilities, including being named Associated Press First Team Little All-America Squad, AFCA Division II Coaches' All-American Team and the Maxwell Football Club Tri-State Player of the Year; and

WHEREAS, Bailey's 2014 awards also including the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Offensive Player of the Year, Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Southeast Offensive Player of the Year and D3football.com First Team all-East Region and First Team All-American; and
