WHEREAS, Mellanie Lassiter, will be leaving PECO, External Affairs, to join BGE, a gas and electric distribution company and part of the Exelon family. Mellanie will assume the role of External Affairs Manager, City of Baltimore; and

WHEREAS, Mellanie received her B.A. in Economics from Spelman College in 1995, and a Masters in Education in Adult Learning and Training and Organization Development from Saint Joseph's University in 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mellanie began her career as a Regional Program Manager for the Fannie Mae Foundation and then as a Community Reinvestment Act Officer for ING Bank before joining PECO in 2005; and

WHEREAS, This move in Mellanie's career takes her skills to another Exelon utility following seven years at PECO in Corporate Relations as a Sr. Community Relations Specialist and Sr. Corporate Citizenship Specialist and another four years in Government Affairs as External Affairs Manager; and

WHEREAS, During Mellanie's time in Government Affairs, she has built relationships with City and State elected officials to assist them with influencing policy, resolving constituent issues, new business development, and addressing emergencies that impact PECO and Philadelphia customers; and

WHEREAS, Her expertise and knowledge of the City along with her relationships in City Council and with the Mayor and his administration will be greatly missed; and

WHEREAS, Her last official day was April 30, 2017; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That it hereby recognizes and honors Mellanie Lassiter on her departure from PECO after more than a decade of dedicated service to the City of Philadelphia.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Mellanie Lassiter as evidence of the sincere sentiments of this ...
