Proclaiming the Week of May 3, 2019 to May 11, 2019 as the Ninth Annual Philly Tech Week Presented by Comcast, and Honoring the Broad and Vibrant Philadelphia Technology Community.

WHEREAS, The Philadelphia technology, innovation and creative communities are again coming together to celebrate their importance to the region's economy, culture, and future; and
WHEREAS, The Philadelphia technology community - with leadership from local technology news organization Technical.ly Philly - has again organized a series of 100 events around technology and innovation in Philadelphia called Philly Tech Week (PTW), scheduled from May 3, 2019 to May 11, 2019; and
WHEREAS, The ninth annual Philly Tech Week (PTW) will kick off in Old City with the inaugural PTW19 scavenger hunt created by Scavify. Subsequent events will be hosted throughout the City organized into seven track themes: Dev, Business, Access, Creative, Media, Civic, and Sciences. The highlighted community events include: the 2019 HUE Tech Summit, the second annual conference for women of color in technology; the Franklin Institute's Science Carnival on the Parkway, a festival of various science demonstrations and experiments for children and family; the 2019 Philadelphia Credit Union Kensington Derby & Arts Festival, which will showcase kinetic derby competitors along with neighborhood artists, and local businesses in Kensington; and the Philadelphia School District's Student Technology Showcase where technology professionals will offer feedback on student projects before a state competition; and
WHEREAS, The Title Sponsor is Comcast NBC Universal and the Collaboration Sponsors are Linode and Generocity; and
WHEREAS, The Dev Track is presented by Vanguard, Cerner, POWER, ELSEVIER, monetate, and TD Bank. The Business Track is presented by Eastern Minority Supplier Development Council, Relay, Vanguard innovation studio, University of Pennsylvania, SAUL EWING ARNSTEIN & LEHR, and PARIVEDA; and
