Amending Section 12-701 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled “Designation of Bicycle Lanes,” to authorize a buffered bicycle lane on Spruce Street, from 2nd Street to 22nd Street and on Pine Street, from Front Street to 18th Street; all under certain terms and conditions.

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:

 

SECTION 1.  Section 12-701 of The Philadelphia Code is amended to read as follows:

 

§ 12-701.  Designation of Bicycle Lanes.

                     (2)                     The Department is authorized to designate a bicycle lane upon the following streets and regulate the operation and use of vehicles and bicycles upon such streets in a manner consistent with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) regulations:

                                          (s) One buffered bike lane on the south side of Spruce Street from 2nd Street to 22nd Street and on the north side of Pine Street from Front Street to 18th Street, and, except for such blocks with dedicated left side motor-vehicle turning lanes, eight flexible delineator posts at the end of each block within 60 feet of the crosswalk.

SECTION 2.  This Ordinance shall take effect immediately.
