WHEREAS, On March 10, 2021, The U.S. Senate voted to confirm Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge as the 18th Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). In her new role, Secretary Fudge will lead the Offices of Housing, Community Planning and Development, Federal Housing Administration, Public and Indian Housing, Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity, Policy Development and Research, Field Policy and Management, Government National Mortgage Association, Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes, and Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships; and

WHEREAS, As a Congresswoman, Fudge served on the Committee on House Administration, the House Committee on Agriculture, and the House Committee on Education and Labor. She was the Chair of the Committee on House Administration's Subcommittee on Elections and Chair of the Committee on Agriculture's Subcommittee on Nutrition, Oversight and Department Operations. She also served on the Subcommittees on Conservation and Forestry (Agriculture), Civil Rights and Human Services (Education & Labor) and Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions (Education & Labor); and

WHEREAS, In the 115th Congress, Congresswoman Fudge served on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce Subcommittees on Early Childhood, Elementary and Secondary Education and on Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions. She also served as Ranking Member on the House Committee on Agriculture Subcommittee on Conservation and Forestry and a member on the Subcommittee on Nutrition. She was a member of several Congressional Caucuses and past Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus; and
