THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:

Section 1. Permission is hereby granted to the owner of the property identified below as or the owner's designee (the "Owner"), to install, own, and maintain encroachments at the Property as follows:

Property: 447 North Broad Street in front of Mathematics, Civics and Sciences Charter School of Philadelphia, Inc. (the "Property").

Encroachment Description:

Installation of 16" x 16" plaque honoring achievements of Grace Hopper. Requires removal and replacement of 6'x5' sidewalk panel comprised of 4" concrete slab.

Grace Hopper plaque will be located in the center of poured concrete panel and the plaque will be flush with the surface of the concrete. The concrete will be poured using a certified 3500 psi concrete mix design and will receive a "Broom" finish. The sidewalk is very wide and the plaque shall not interfere with public right of way. The sidewalk will remain passable. The location of the plaque will be close to the school building for viewing by the public.

Section 2. The construction, use and maintenance of the Encroachment described and listed in Section 1 shall be in accordance with the laws, rules and regulations of the City of Philadelphia, and specifically those of the Department of Licenses and Inspections, the Department of Streets, and the Art Commission, provided that the Department of Streets, in its sole, unreviewable discretion, may allow minor variations of the dimension limits of Section 1, within standard tolerances of current engineering practice.

Section 3. Before exercising any rights or privileges under this Ordinance, Owner must first obtain or have its contractor(s) obtain all required permits, licenses and approvals from all appropriate departments, boards, agencies or commissions. No such department, board, agency or ...
