Title

Honoring and congratulating Women’s History Month’s Champion of the Week, Masterman Girls Swim Team on the league championship, and the 10 Philadelphia Public League Girls Swimmers on qualifying for the PIAA State Championships.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Led by Phil Kohler, Masterman Swimming clinched this year's Public League title with Kristina Kitsul as the top qualifier for Girls AA in the 500 Freestyle with 5:20.89 time; and

 

WHEREAS, Jillian Rhyshek, Oni Shehurmans, Ijenu Okongwu, Rafaela Rodriguez were the 4 swimmers to qualify for State Championships and were led by head coach Tracy Freeland; and

 

WHEREAS, Science Leadership Academy’s completed its 3rd ever season with 4 swimmers qualifying, Courtnee Gariasole-Culhane, Alexa Gariasole-Culhane, Lucy Silverman, and Daphne Frank; and

 

WHEREAS, Alexis Barber, from Northeast High School, qualified to State Championships early this month swimming the 100 Freestyle with a time of 59.79; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby congratulate and honor Masterman Girls Swim Team on the league championship, and the 10 Philadelphia Public League Girls Swimmers on qualifying for the PIAA State Championships.

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Masterman Girls Swim Team, further evidencing the sincere admiration and respect of this legislative body.
