WHEREAS, Patty Jackson was born and raised in South Philadelphia, where her talent for broadcasting emerged at Southwark Motivation High School where she was the announcer on her school PA every morning. After attending American Academy for Broadcasting she began her lengthy career in radio; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Jackson's 35-year career has included working for Power 99 FM and Q102, but she is best known for her show, Caf? 105 on 105.3 WDAS-FM where she interviewed some of the biggest names in entertainment; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Jackson's talents are not just limited to radio; she has hosted telethons, been on NBC10's 10! Show, has been the entertainment correspondent on CN8's Your Morning the first Friday of the month, and has written an entertainment column for the Philadelphia Tribune. Ms. Jackson's voice is also used to welcome travelers at the Philadelphia International Airport from all over the world to our City; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Jackson has shown commitment to community service, by supporting and advocating for many causes and organizations such as the Breast Cancer Race for The Cure, the National Woman's Heart Day Campaign, Coalition Against Hunger, and more. After suffering a stroke in 2015, Ms. Jackson used volunteering and public speaking to raise awareness about heart disease; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Jackson's career has been honored throughout her career with countless awards from both local and national organizations. She received the Communicator of the Year Award in 1995 from the National Black MBA Association and she was recognized by the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists for Outstanding Community Service in 2005.
