Amending Section 12-701 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled “Designation of Bicycle Lanes,” to authorize a bicycle lane, in the southbound direction, on North 2nd street from Race street to Market street; and removing a travel lane on North 2nd street within the same limits; all under certain terms and conditions.

 

Body

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:

 

SECTION 1. Section 12-701 of The Philadelphia Code is amended to read as follows:

 

§ 12-701. Designation of Bicycle Lanes.

(2)  The Department is authorized to designate a bicycle lane upon the following streets and regulate the operation and use of vehicles and bicycles upon such streets in a manner consistent with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) regulations:

(*) North 2nd street, southbound, from Race street to Market street: One bicycle lane, and the removal of a travel lane within the same limits.

SECTION 2.  The following parking regulations shall be amended on North 2nd street, east side, from Race street to Market street to:

 

NO STOPPING ANYTIME

 

SECTION 3.  This Ordinance shall take effect as follows:

 

(a) Section 1: Immediately.

(b) Section 2: Upon replacement of parking signage consistent with this Ordinance.
