Title

Authorizing the opening of the northerly ten feet wide portion of Vine Street from Eighteenth Street to Nineteenth Street and from Nineteenth Street to Twentieth Street, being land owned by the City.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the northerly ten feet wide portion of Vine Street, from Eighteenth Street to Nineteenth Street and from Nineteenth Street to Twentieth Street, is plotted on the City Plan, but there is no record of its ever having been officially legally opened, and

 

WHEREAS, the said portion of Vine Street has been improved and in use by public traffic for many years; and

 

WHEREAS, the City is the record owner and the abutting owner of the said portion of Vine Street; and

 

WHEREAS, it is desirable to clarify the status of the said portion of Vine Street as being part of the legally open public right-of-way; now, therefore,

 

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:

 

SECTION 1.  The Board of Surveyors of the Department of Streets is hereby authorized to adopt a resolution declaring the northerly ten feet wide portion of Vine Street from Eighteenth Street to Nineteenth Street and from Nineteenth Street to Twentieth Street, being land owned by the City of Philadelphia, to be legally open.
