Body

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION 1. The Commissioner of Parks and Recreation, on behalf of the City of Philadelphia, is authorized to enter into a multiyear agreement with Bennett Compost, Inc., for food scrap collection and management of a compost facility on City property located at 5650 Rising Sun Avenue, pursuant to the terms set forth in Exhibit "A" of this Ordinance.

SECTION 2. The City Solicitor is authorized to draft, negotiate, review, and approve, prior to execution, all documents necessary and helpful to effectuate this Ordinance, and to include in the documents all provisions the City Solicitor deems necessary and proper to protect the interests of the City and to carry out the purpose of this Ordinance.





EXHIBIT A
Terms of Proposed Multiyear Agreement
For Food Scrap Collection and Management of a Compost Facility on City property Located at 5650 Rising Sun Avenue

1. Vendor: Bennett Compost, Inc.
2. Area to be Licensed by the City: all or a portion of 5650 Rising Sun Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
3. Commencement Date: August 1, 2020.
4. Term: The initial term of this contract will be for four (4) years. The City may exercise the option to extend the term of the contract by up to three (3) additional two-year terms.
5. Services: Includes the collection and composting of food waste from an annually escalating percentage of City facilities and from City events and the annual provision of compost to the City in accordance with the contract.
