THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION 1. Title 6 of The Philadelphia Code is hereby amended to read as follows.

CHAPTER 6-300. FOOD.

§ 6-301. Food Establishments.

* * *

(6) Every food establishment shall be conducted, operated, and maintained in accordance with such additional requirements as the Board may by regulation prescribe to protect the health of the ultimate consumers of food handled in such establishment. Such regulations may include, but shall not be limited to, reasonable requirements as to:

(a) The building structure, maintenance, sanitation, lighting, ventilation and cleanliness of food establishments.

(b) The regular, customary, and reputable preparation, composition, service, display, storage, refrigeration, sale, and packaging of food therein.

(c) The adequate supply of food within sufficient facilities for its preparation, composition, service, display, storage, refrigeration, packaging, and sale.

(d) The use, occupancy, size, arrangement, and seating capacity of the serving area.

([c]e) The personal hygiene and food service practices of persons handling food therein.

([d]f) The construction, cleaning, cleanliness, bactericidal treatment and storage of equipment and utensils.

([e]g) The disposal of liquid and solid waste.

([f]h) The handling, storage and protection of food in transit to and from food establishments within the City.
